Job Purpose

As a key member of the Programme and Policy Advocacy team, this position requires proactive personnel in supporting tasks and activities performed across the team. The incumbent will be responsible for Capacity building of Partner NGOs in terms of Water and Sanitation, Monitoring & follow up, Budgeting and Reporting and Documenting.

Key Responsibilities

•Program Support: Provide support to develop policy, strategy, guidelines, concept note related with Water, Sanitation and Hygiene promotion, CBO capacity building, Community voice raising and sustainability aspect •Capacity building: – Coordinate to identify the knowledge gaps of Partner Office (PO) staff towards improved water and sanitation practices and mainstreaming these issues and provide support accordingly; – Coordinate to assess POs training needs in relation with implementation of interventions; – Coordinate capacity building initiatives towards FCDO Project implementation; – Enhance capability of relevant partner staff. – Provide support to develop and design IEC and BCC materials related to FCDO Project interventions; – Provide support to integrate all sorts capacity building initiatives in FCDO project – Provide support to develop relevant training curriculum’s, modules etc to respective partner Team; • Monitoring and follow up: Visit partner organizations programme area to explore the status whether the POs are implementing the FCDO project properly. Mainstream the Water and Sanitation issues effectively and efficiently along with other needs of the project. •Budget: – Provide support to prepare, review of partner organizations annual plan and budget regarding Hygiene promotion, CBO capacity building and Water safety plan aspect. – Follow up of POs budget expenditure and provide appropriate feed back. • Reporting and documenting: – Prepare periodic project reports and documents as per requirement of WaterAid, donor and other stakeholders – Prepare monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual work plan and report – Prepare field visit report – Coordinate to document POs best practices on improved hygiene practices towards environmental sanitation •Others: – Participate in national and international meetings, workshops, seminars, and conferences relevant to arsenic issues, child movement, environmental sanitation etc on behalf of WAB and as required.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

Education: Masters or equivalent degree preferably in Development Studies/Economics/Public Health/Any other relevant social science discipline. Experience: At least 03 (three) years of demonstrated experience in capacity development with a particular focus on Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) with reputed organisations preferably with INGOs, donor agencies or international organisations is required. Working experience in a partnership mode with national NGOs is preferable. Knowledge: Knowledge on capacity building aspects of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene WASH) and Governance is a must. Knowledge and practical experience of imparting training is a must. Working experience in terms of capacity building of local government institutions (Union Parishad and Municipality) is preferable. Skill: Relationship building with LGIs (Union Parishad and Municipality) and national NGOs is preferable. Good communication skills and experience to work with partners and donors; pro-activeness, positive attitude and professional integrity are required as well. Competencies: Must be a team player with mutual trust and understanding in a mixed team, self-motivated, problem solver, demonstrates gender and cultural awareness, effective communicator, capable to work under extreme pressure, ability to prioritize works and meet deadlines. Ready to undertake extensive field visits as required.

Salary & Benefits

Monthly salary is BDT 62,000/-, this is flexible corresponding to the relevant higher skills, competencies and experiences. Apart, s/he will entitle to other benefits which include festival bonus, provident fund and gratuity along with life insurance for self, health insurance for self, spouse and children, cell phone allowances etc. as per policy provision.

Travel

Willingness to travel on a regular basis is required (30% to 40% time should be dedicated to travels).
